In this episode of Unravelling, I am excited to share space with Lydia Reeves.

Lydia is a Female Body Casting Artist working out of her studio in Brighton, UK. Her work focuses on allowing people to celebrate their incredible bodies, and to help eradicate any shame, embarrassment or negative thoughts that they may have encountered throughout their lives.

In this episode we unravel…

  • Lydia’s journey with her art and what brought her to the work she does now as a Female Body Casting Artist

  • The co-creative healing process for herself and others through body casting

  • How creating her book - which includes over 200 vulva casts and 100 stories and experiences - allows for those struggling to see they’re not alone

  • Vulva Casting - the process and personal power that comes from the experience

  • The healing medicine in letting go of shame when stories are shared in safe spaces

And much, much more!

Memorable Quotes…

“I wanted to create something which showed diverse bodies. Actually, realistically showed diverse bodies….This is real. This is a real person’s body.”

“It’s amazing how healing it has been for me. It’s something I didn’t predict or expect. I can’t explain to you how much better I feel about it, especially my vulva now. It’s been life changing for me as well as everyone else who has come.”

“Looking back, it’s such a waste of energy hating a part of you that’s so so normal. I wish someone would have told me that no matter what you look like, it’s completely normal and unique.”
